Anniversary episode
Awww... Paris. How I miss thee!
Since getting back from our trip abroad, life has been coming at us very fast! In the span of about a week, I quit my job, got a new one and we moved into a new apartment. As most of you know, I now work at The Gainesville Sun. It's fabulous. It's so great to be doing something I really enjoy. And, I'm learning a lot that will be helpful in my future endeavors.
Our apartment still needs a little work. With the new schedule, it's hard to find days that Matt and I are home together. Hanging shelves and such is much easier with two people! But, other than the minor details, we're enjoying our new place. It's so nice to have a place of our own - that only we've lived in. We just ordered a washer and dryer today so it'll feel a lot more moved in when we get those tomorrow. You know you've become domesticated when you're excited about a washer and dryer!
Also in big news, we just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. One year! Can you believe it? We can't! It's gone by really quickly - and it will be a hard year to top! But, it's been a marvelous year. Matt and I both know how lucky we are to have found each other. We celebrated with a quiet day at home - just the two of us - and a fabulous dinner at a swanky restaurant. We also decided to continue a tradition started on our wedding day - brewing beer! So, we whipped up the first Stickman anniversary brew (not sure what we're officially calling it yet). We went with a pumpkin ale this year but it may change next year. It's a fun thing to do together and we get to reap the benefits with beer!
All in all, life is really going well for us. We've settled into a bit of a routine, but we're still blissfully enjoying our newlywed phase.
