Aaaand we're back.

We made it back from Paris safe and sound. What a crazy day of traveling! Our flight from Paris was all right. It feels much longer than 6.5 hours. We had to go through immigration and customs when we got back. The lines were a nightmare. Luckily we just made it to our gate in time. Actually, our flight had been delayed 30 minutes so we had time to grab a snack and board. We seemed to sit at the gate for a few minutes, then we taxied for a few minutes, and then we stopped. We ended up having to sit on the runway for 2 hours. Some radio tower went out south of us and basically affected the entire East Coast. So, we were first in line to leave DC, but we were being worked in with planes from all up and down the East Coast. We finally took off about the time we were supposed to be landing. We got back to Orlando at about 10 p.m. and made it back to our apartment at midnight. It felt pretty good to be home. It was really great to see Abi and the cats again. We missed them.

Paris was so fabulous. It was just beautiful. We saw so many things and took so many pictures. The last few days Matt and I just kind of wandered around the different neighborhoods. I think Montemarte was my favorite neighborhood. My favorite day was Bastille Day. We slept in and caught the end of the parade on TV. I'm kind of glad we didn't get up early and fight the crowds to see it in person. It was basically one group of people in uniform carrying some kind of weapon after another. The fireworks at the Eiffel Tower were awesome! The French know how to do fireworks! We were sitting on the back side of the tower, in a little park area a few blocks away so we couldn't see all of them. But, what we did see (most of the show), was awesome. Matt and I were cuddled up, watching fireworks go off around the Eiffel Tower and drinking really good French wine (out of the bottle - hee hee) - does it get anymore romantic?? It was really awesome. The Musee d'Orsay was really awesome. And Notre Dame had, I think, the best views of the city. And the gargoyles were so cool. Really, everyone should travel to Paris at least once in their lifetime.

We'll try to post pictures and blog about some more stuff this week.
