Catacombes

Matt here. We went to the catacombes while we were in Paris. I'm not sure how to describe it. Its basically a pile of bones. It is very surreal and goes on for a long time. I think I got the point after about 10 minutes, but it just kept going and going. It wasn't just a few hundred people, or a few thousand people, it had to have been hundreds of thousands of people, piled on top of one another. some of the skulls were arranged in the shapes of hearts or crosses in the walls. You aren't supposed to touch the piles but everyone does. I touched a femur on top of one of the piles. It was very disturbing. Imagine a pile of bones as high as my shoulder in a tunnel that's about a mile long.

Looks like you are covering alot of places there. Isn't it great?!? Try a wine tour out in the country-can't be beat.
