Krissi and I are in a McDonalds about 2 miles from our hotel updating our blog because it seems that McDonalds is one of the few places that has free WiFi in the area, now if only i could find a laundromat i'd be set.
Paris has been great for Krissi and I. We've been doing the basic Paris things, going to the top of tall structures and looking down and saying, "Wow, its pretty." or going to museums and looking at art and saying "Wow, that's pretty." or going to castles / palaces / churches and looking at the architecture and saying, "Whoa, that's pretty." That's roughly the dramatic arc of our trip so far. Insert some good food and some wine and there you have it. Apparently Krissi is going to take over the keyboard after reading what I've written thus far.
Hi all. Paris is fantastic. The weather has been a little dreary; it seems to start off nice, then drizzle for a while, then it's nice again. A few days it has really rained for awhile. Luckily we've avoided it by ducking into cafes and such. So far we've seen the Eiffel Tower (though we weren't allowed to go to the top due to elevator issues), Montemarte to see the Sacre Couer, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge, Musee d'Orsay, Versailles, Catacombes, the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou. It's all been really awesome to see. The Notre Dame is beautiful. The view from the top is amazing. Just breathtaking. The gargoyles were way cool! We've taken about 600 pictures already. Just about everything in Paris is beautiful. The first day we were here we took a river tour to get ourselves oriented. It was a nice, quick way to see the major sites. Yesterday was a VERY full day for Matt, Sarah (Matt's cousin), Lio (her boyfriend) and I. We got up really early, went to Versailles, had lunch, went to the Catacombes, stopped for a snack, stopped for a beer at the Indiana, headed to the Louvre and then went to dinner near our hotel. Today Matt and I went to the Pompidou Center (modern art museum) which was a little too modern for my tastes. We've kind of just bummed around today. I think both of us are a bit worn out from yesterday.
Anywho, tonight we might see Harry Potter. :) There's a movie theater nearby; we're hoping they play movies in their original language. I better drink my beer before it gets warm - yep, I'm having a beer at McDonalds! This is how it should be!!

Way Cool! To experience the real Paris though you have to go play checkers/chess with the old men in the park by the Tower. I think they would only let Matt play though. Oh wait-boule is by the tower-it is the smaller parks that do the other games.
great pictures-keep taking them
love ya

Beer at McDonald's? Sacre Bleu!
Woohoo!!! You're in Paris! I hate to break it to you like this but Jordan and I already laid claim to Versailles a little while ago. We're just waiting for the current tenants to vacate the premises.
And how'd you get up to the bell tower?!?!? We walked around and around trying to find the entrance...but obviously weren't committed enough or we would've just asked someone...
SOAK IT UP!
Love Ellie
